Course Assignment: Prototype Sock Website

First I would like to thank Youtubers for just existing and making tutorials. Then I would like to thank all gods that exist for the Forum on Moodle. Then I would like to curse my own pride for stopping me from asking for help at times. So don’t be like me and try to rip apart the internet to get answers instead of just asking fellow students.

Behold, Course Assignment 5 that I didn´t post about until now: Grumpy Guerilla Socks from 01.04.22

In that assignment, I was tasked with making 4 interactive website pages for a company called GrumpyGuerilla, which sells pretty socks. The 4 pages I had to make were a home page, a contact page, a page about them as a company, and a page where the socks are displayed for buying.

I first had to understand how I could reach the demographic GrumpyGuerilla wanted. The brief said this: ”GrumpyGuerilla knows their target audience likes to feel good and look good when doing sports, socializing and working”. And within this group, they want a 50/50 ratio between females and males between ages 25 to 30.

Therefore, I needed to make the socks look appealing to people who want to stand out in a normal life. I would have to make sure the images speak to them and what they want.

The design has to be clean and doesn´t mess with the images and distract the customer. Since the people GrumpyGuerilla maybe have a social life, possibly office work, or does sports like football, the sock images have to hit towards that. To say: You can wear our socks on these occasions

Since the socks sold are supposed to be the spot of brightness and color in a normal life, I wanted it to be reflected on the website pages. A neutral background with splashes of color on important buttons or words in the body text.
