Pre-Noroff digital art

I previously took Media and Communication at high school and there I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator simply. Then when I had graduated from high school I couldn´t use the Adobe programs without paying any more. Because of that I then found the program Krita as an alternative since it was free.

Over time the digital art I drew became easier and easier to do. It became better too. I wonder where my next “level” is and how far away it is. Time just flies by and before you know it all of a sudden you just know what to do. I don´t even remember half of my journey in learning how to use Illustrator, InDesign or even PremierePro.

I have found a passion for drawing using digital tools. It makes it easier to get the right color and in some cases, texture. Digital drawing has this amazing perk where you can just flip and scale your drawing to be what you want it to be. A lifesaver when the realization hits you that a tail (for example) is too long. Or that every single drawing in your blog post are facing left.

Now that I am a graphic design student I feel such anticipation for what I can learn. For what I can achieve. Maybe I will one day learn how to draw a face without it looking flat.

A video I did before I started at Noroff. I am not a Youtuber per say but I do like to show how I work. What I prioritize. I draw for hand and then take a picture of it to transport over to my mac where I draw the rest. Filming all I do take hours so I just compress it to its most important parts, add music and then subtitles.

For as long as I have known I have only used paint and other drawing tools IRL and not their digital version. At first I did not even understand how much time and effort went into digital art, not graphic design, not photoshop, not just plain digital drawing. I did not understand it… but now I do and I want more of it. I want in on it. I found a new passion in my second year of high school and now I am suddenly studying it in hopes of bringing my ideas to the table for future clients. It feels so weird. Exciting. Scary.

Thank you for reading my bland blog post. Until next time.
